Wexford Clubhouse Creates Beautiful Window Display For Fleadh Cheoil 2024

Our Wexford Clubhouse members have spent the past three weeks working on an incredible window display for the Fleadh Cheoil. Wexford Borough District invited local businesses in Wexford Town to create displays celebrating Wexford Town hosting Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024 and this is our Wexford Clubhouse’s entry.

The theme of the window display competition is “Wexford Welcomes Fleadh 2024”. Businesses participating have been encouraged to make sustainable and environmentally friendly design choices, with particular attention to:

  • Use of Reuse/Recycle Material
  • Creativity and Visual Impact
  • Incorporation of Wexford in the design
  • Incorporation of Fleadh in the design.

Members with different skills and talents came together to produce this amazing display. All of the instruments shown are made out of recycled materials to tie in with the theme and the Fleadh Cheoil logo on the bodhrán was hand embroidered, which took an incredible 24 hours.
The brain shown below is made from hundreds of individually pieces of quilled paper, using colour to show the importance of creativity when it comes to brain health and brain injury rehabilitation.

To complete the display, our members added musical notes to show how powerful music is for brain health, and in particular brain injury rehabilitation. They also created clever rhymes to describe each of the pieces, while also incorporating facts about Wexford.

What an incredible achievement! Well done to all involved.
