Peer Support Groups
At Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, we believe in a person-centred approach. This means putting people impacted by brain injury and their families at the heart of everything we do. Survivors and families help us make decisions, understand more about brain injury and the supports they need. They can also help one another by sharing their experiences of brain injury, the changes in their lives, and what they have learned along the way.
We currently have two peer support groups where survivors and families can connect online.
Connect My Brain
Connect My Brain is an online peer support group for people with an acquired brain injury in Ireland. The group, hosted on Facebook, is a space where brain injury survivors can get the support they need, provide support to others, and benefit from shared experience.
Only members of the group can see who else has joined, and what they post. The group is supported by members of our team. To join, click the button below and answer the membership questions on Facebook.
On With Life For Families and Carers of Adults
Supported by our Carers and Families Programme, the On With Life Facebook Group is a place to connect with others living with or caring for an adult with an acquired brain injury. The Group is a private, safe space to share experiences, information and support one another.
All family members and carers of loved ones with a brain injury are welcome to register. To join, click the button below and answer the membership questions on Facebook.
On With Life For Parents and Carers of U18
